The singers age from 16 years upwards, have a variety of backgrounds and joined for many different reasons.

97 people turned up at the opening rehearsal, and the choir remains 100-strong today.

In its first two years the choir transformed from a group of people interested in singing into a powerful choir capable of entertaining a broad range of audiences. Highlights of recent years include singing in New York at the tenth anniversary commemoration of 9/11
